New age singer-songwriter Kristina Bennett delivers her second consecutive No. 1 album debut!
Kristina Bennett’s musical meditation on divine feminine energy, balance and healing titled “Shakti” became her second consecutive album, after “Mother Tree” to debut at No. 1 on the iTunes new age chart. The thirteen songs and devotional chants about goddesses that she wrote and sings in English and Sanskrit on her Pacific Records debut disc were produced by Patricio Pickslay. Her band, Full Moon Tiger, is featured throughout the album.
“Shakti” is a cultural amalgam of classical Indian music, Americana roots, western drums, adult pop and soft rock stylings. A certified sound, voice and music healing practitioner, Bennett skillfully plies her ethereal voice to calm, soothe and affirm amidst rich layers of harmonies and rhythmic percussion grooves. She explains that her song lyrics on the new album are rooted in mother earth, inspired by nature, and are a response to the climate crisis and political crises gripping our world. Bennett acknowledges that her real-life journeys, painful challenges, and enlightening discoveries inform the music she wrote for “Shakti.” She found that writing and recording the album was a transformational experience.
Kristina has performed extensively throughout her life on the East Coast, West Coast, Canada, Europe, and India.
Kristina has over 30 years of singing, acting, and performing experience, and has been working with clients privately for nearly 15 years.
Trained at Berklee College of Music, Kristina studied Music Business & Music Therapy, with her main instrumental focus on the voice. She is also certified in Sound, Voice, & Music Healing from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
To continue her musical & cultural education, Kristina traveled to India in 2015 to study Classical Indian Singing/Music under the world-renowned, Grammy-nominated performer, Silvia Nakkach, MA, MMT, and Dr. Ritwik Sanyal, India's most notable and honored Dhrupad singer.
Kristina's unique and rich background enables her to blend Western & Eastern musical modalities, offering an authentic learning experience for clients.
Kristina teaches Voice and Music lessons in San Diego, and also offers virtual lessons to clients located elsewhere. She also offers Sound Therapy sessions.
Kristina's approach to teaching is to tailor lessons according to individual interests, needs, and goals. Her youngest student is 4, and her oldest is in their 70s. She teaches everything from Pop, Country, Jazz/Blues, Classic/Indie Rock, Punk, Musical Theater, R&B, Electronica, and a splash of Opera.
She released a solo album in 2008 entitled Mermaid Tattoos, and thereafter 2 EPs & a handful of singles over the years. Her latest album Mother Tree, released in March 2022, hit #1 on the iTunes New Age Chart. You can find it on all the music listening platforms worldwide.
Kristina is also the lead singer in her band, Full Moon Tiger. Kristina continues to perform & tour as a solo artist, as well as with Full Moon Tiger throughout California and elsewhere, sharing her gift of music, deep love of the environment, and education.
